I'm a multi-instrumentalist from Guisborough, North Yorkshire, and have been teaching piano at Teesside School of Music since February 2015. Although I thoroughly enjoy singing and playing the guitar and saxophone, for me it is the piano that offers the the greatest musical connection.
I have had a varied history in music; from singing as a chorister as a child (singing as part of the York Minster choir during a two week course), to performing in bands up and down the country. The last band I was a member of, Kingsley Chapman and the Murder, was regularly played nationally on BBC Radio 6.
Composition and song writing is also a huge passion of mine, having composed for a number of short films and a radio documentary.
I co-direct Myths&Music, a community interest company that explores the world of music and storytelling with children of all backgrounds and abilities. Within the workshops we make short films with original stories and music, then share them on YouTube. The company has received two lots of Middlesbrough Council grant funding. More information can be found at www.facebook.com/mythsandmusic.
Music has been my absolute passion for as long as I can remember. Having the opportunity to help educate, influence and inspire the next generation of musicians is truly a great privilege, and something that I care very deeply about.
