About

I am 23 years old and I started playing piano at age 8, and shortly after began playing the viola.

I have always loved music, whether playing for fun, performing for others, or to explore music academically.

I have played at numerous festivals, and have equally enjoyed being part of Tees Valley Youth Orchestra and Tees Valley Youth Choir from 2009-2013. I have performed at the Sage, the Royal Albert Hall, the Symphony Hall and toured twice with TVYO to Prague and Germany. I attained Trinity Grade 6 viola and ABRSM Grade 8 distinction on piano in 2012 and continued to explore my passion for music where I decided to study music as part of my Combined Honours degree at Newcastle University in 2013, where I gained BA First Class Honours in June 2017.

Whilst studying music, I became particularly inspired by the philosophy of learning. I enjoyed studying pedagogical approaches to music, and through this, developed a dialogic teaching style centring on the child’s voice.

I enjoy being in an educational setting and I especially love teaching music, due to its multi-functionality; it can have a profound impact on people’s lives.

I am comfortable teaching in any style and level. I believe music lessons should be fun and tailored to the individual. I am approachable and aim to create the best learning environment for each student.
